Hello all:
I just replaced my Cisco DPC3010 cable modem with a Motorola SB6183. I got the modem added to my account. I have Ultimate service. The modem is running Firmware SB6183-9.2.0.0.6A-03-29-NOSH. The modem only bonds 4 channels. Everything else looks great. Just SLOW...
Is there someone at Cox on line that can help? Been on hold for 80 mins for tier 2 help.
Thanks !!

Well I had the Cox Team (contractor) out here yesterday. In all defense he was nice & really check every part closely. He said I had a pristine signal and he would not change anything. Well I told him I had spoke with tier 2 and that the modem had to be manually programmed to get more than 4 channels bonded channels to lock up. He did not have a clue of what I was speaking of. I do have a ticket number 2488693. I am going to call this morning and see if there has been any movement or elevation on my ticket.
If I could just get at least 8 channels I think I would be very happy with my Ultimate service level.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly apprechiated.

Not to step on anyones toes, but there was a post over on DSLReports very similar to this one. Might want to contact Odog over on DSLR to see if he can do the same to your modem. It requires some high level access I think, like direct to the CMTS, so I doubt even Tier 2 could do it.

Yes hopefully, I only have a few more days I can return the modem.
Thanks,
M
PS - Does he need my MAC address? I sent it to him on the other forum.

oDog came thru this morning. I am now getting 8 Channels. My download speed is still slow for Ultimate. Matter of fact 4 Channels were slightly better at 100MBs. Last 8 Channel test was 92MBs Down and 25MBs up. Going to do some more testing with minimumal devices. Our area is suppose to be up to 12 channels so this may hopefully improve.
Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
