Modem SB6141
I own a SB6180 but I'm just wondering if it would be possible for cox to register it under the SB6141 firmware capability. I've heard its possible with other cable ISPs. I if is possible please try it thank you.

Pretty sure they use different tuners, where are you reading this is possible. Also, what is the reason your wanting to do that? If anything the SB6180 firmware is more open.

Thanks Health Edge. I read it in some blog about time warner cable and compatible routers. I was just wondering if it were possible because my ping went from around 7 to 15 and now its 23 to 49 ms. I just wonder why this is. No real issues I just like to know how things work. I did downgrade from the " 150 mbps " to just 50mbps I realized that I'm not even using 25mbps. I'm thinking that this is the reason why my ping went up but I want to make sure. Thanks again for the reply H-E.

Thanks Tiffany. Yes I do use a splitter its a GE 2-way splitter 5-2500 mhz power pass all ports. I used it because I had cable tv and internet service with only one coaxial wall outlet. Is this the right splitter to use? otherwise I don't know how else to hook up both services. I did remove it and I'm currently using only the internet service , can you please do another signal test and reply. If I need a different splitter please advice on one for me to purchase. Thank you.
