MLB Extra Innings Missing HD Channels

Noticed MLB Extra innings is missing 5 Channels in HD.

Standard definition uses channels Game 1-14 but the HD channels only range from Game 1-9. Sure enough some games can be viewed only in SD. This is quite unfortunate because watching sports in SD is not fun at all.

When is this going to be fixed?

I don't think Cox has the whole MLB Extra innings in HD at least in some areas like Omaha which has only 9 of the MLB Extra innings in HD.  something else the Omaha area has channels 672-684 for The MLB Extra innings SD channels, but the HD channels are from 1671-1679  sounds like the lineup is missed up.

I am in Phoenix, Arizona.

Kind of upset that I paid for this without being told that some games wouldn't be in HD.

I'm showing in Phoenix the MLB channels are 671-679 and the HD are 1671-1679. Which other channel numbers are you getting in SD?

671-684 are all MLB Extra Innings SD Channels. (GAME 1 - GAME 14).

1671-1679 are MLB Extra Innings HD Channels (GameHD 1 - GameHD 9)

I can submit a channel request to add the additional channels. Please email me at cox.help@cox.com with the account details and a link to this post.

I too live in Phoenix and yes, the HD channels are 1671-1679. However, this week, channels 1671 and 1672 are suddenly in SD; 1673-9 are HD as normal. Glitch? Contour box freaking out? What's going on?

DUDE !!   I am So Glad You Posted This!!   I got hung up on Twice by customer service about this earlier.  Nobody could understand what I was trying to say, and they just kept making me reset my box!  In Phoenix, channels 1671 and 1672 are Not in HD and They Should Be.  It's been going on since Monday, and Nobody is doing anything about it.

Can someone take a picture of the channel and attach it here for review?

The picture has vertical bars on the left and right side. This is very annoying and I can't believe Cox has no idea what people are taking about.  I would think if they can't fix it they should be give some sort of credit back to people who have the MLB package!

This is how 1671 (GAMH1) and 1672 (GAMH2) look in Phoenix, AZ. Both were previously HD Channels until recently.

I sent an email regarding the missing channels as advised and was given a "we'll put in a request" response.  I work in business and am intelligent enough to know when I am being given the standard runaround response. This is blatant deceptive advertising in my opinion. I fully understand the difference between Blackouts and cutting services. This is simply a lack of service.

Additionally, I was told the first 9 games at any given time are the only ones aired in HD. This is something consumers should be made aware of before selling them the product. Seeing as I follow West Coast teams, that means I have and always will be forced to watch a vast majority of games in Standard definition which just won't work for me. I will follow up throughout the next week to see if this is fixed promptly.

If not, I will simply accept my losses and cancel my entire television service with COX. Baseball is 90% of my viewing experience and I'm not going to continue to pay for HD services only to be forced to watch programs in standard definition.

I would advise people not to purchase the MLB Extra Innings Package without finding out if you get all the channels first.

I'm not cancelling my service over it.  I mean, I can watch the games on my Roku, but I am a little disappointed by their response here.  I've been hung up on, I've chatted online with an employee about it, I've tweeted @CoxHelp about it, and I've posted here about it.  I've even talked to InDemand about it.  And it is just absolutely impossible to find anyone who knows what they're doing!   The lady on the phone said that she was in Atlanta, and had never even seen a cox cable receiver!   I think that is just Ridiculous.

@a.emmerling,

I have placed a request regarding adding the rest of the MLB Extra Innings channels to the lineup in HD, however, since I see here that you're specifically having trouble with 1671 and 1672, I'm forwarding your account to our Video Team. They are currently looking into these two channels. I apologize if I did not fully understand the issue.

Thank you,
