Some Cox receiver will be needed on all TV’s, ‘Mini-box” is simplest and cheapest of receivers. Having HDTV has no affect, because Cox is encrypting all signals requiring some box to decrypt signal. The tuners in your TV’s will no longer be used.

Do search “mini box” on this forum and read until you get exhausted.

HD signals will be sent to your HDTV via the mini-box HDMI output.

I don't understand what you mean by "change." Please clarify.

I think they mean the channel numbers. To answer that question; no. All the channels are the same thing, just some channels don't come in. Also, mini boxes auto tune to the HD version of a channel automatically if you have the box connected with a HDMI. This can cause issues because some packages include the SD, but not the HD version of a channel. Any idea how to get around this?

Yeah. Do what I did - get a 4642HDC instead of a mini-box.

Does the mini box give you the same channel line up you have on the tv with he main digital receiver?

Again, the minibox will give you the Essentials channels.  It won't give you On Demand, Premium channels or digital paks (channels 100 & above).  If you use HDMI output into an HDTV, you will get the HD feed.  If you use the coax output, you will get the SD feed.
