Mini Box Problems...missing stations
I just got 3 mini boxes for my kids. One mini box works fine and all channels are working, but the other two mini boxes won't allow us to view channel 64-cartoon network. I have the advanced ultimate package with contour so we definitely should be getting this channel. How do I fix this problem?

We only picked up 1 mini box but have the same problem you do. The programming is all messed up and channels between the 40s and 800 are completely missing.

I had the same thing happen. Before we got the mini box, my kids always got channel 64 (cartoon network,) which is an analog channel. I don't understand. It's terribly confusing, and I frustrating

Missing WGN and some upper channels on all TVs and the TV guide on one TV. Periodically missing other channels also. Have had mini box for a week.

I will email you. Mostly WGN says that there is no signal detected on this TV (and all five TVs) but when we disconnect the mini box, it re-appears. After leaving on the WGN channel for an hour, with pixellating happening every so often, a different reference popped up saying I needed a subscription for that channel which is not true. And we sometimes lose the TV Guide too, not just on one mini box, but several at different times.

Did this get resolved? Person who came out today was only able to check connection at the TVs and since all five are missing the same channels, that is not the problem. Have another tech coming out later in the week.

How about the ability to delete unwanted channels on the mini box. My TV lets me delete unwanted channels. Now that the TV tuner is useless, stepping through many many useless channels on the mini box **. I don't need all the spanish channels, music/radio channels and some of the government channels. Can the next firmware update include a favorites button or the ability to delete unwanted channels?

Are you receiving any error messages on the screen of channel 64? Have you tried resetting your equipment to see if that helps? If you're still experiencing issues after the reset, please email the team at cox.help@cox.com with your full service address and the link to this thread so that we can further look into this.

I have reset the boxes numerous times. Now two of the three boxes are working on channel 64. The 3rd box is not working. It says that there is no signal detected for that channel and to reference 3.1.4 when discussing the issue. I will send an email now.

I couldn't find a listing for error 3.1.4 but most of the 3.1.x errors have to do with SDV and security flags on the channel. Usually this is caused by a problem with OOB or the upstream signal the box uses to talk to Cox. I think this is a common problem because CATV (non box TV) only required downstream signal to see the channels. This caused technician (and customer) to not care about the upstream while wiring the outlets. CATVs were given the lowest signal priority in the house because they required the least signal to function correctly. This is not the case for mini boxes.

Squirrels had chewed on the line close to the pole. Once that was changed out, all the missing channels were restored. Tech said we had probably had poor quality before (we did but blamed it on old TVs) but the mini box just pointed out the problem more.
