Low WIFI Signal
HI,
We have had this Cox internet for about 3 years now and since the first day, the WIFI speed and signal was REALLY low. The laptop that we use is about 15 feet from the router and modem, but the 2 rooms on the other side of the wall next to the router which are about 5 feet far, we get almost no signal for phones and laptops. Please help me bring the signal higher!

DIR-615 is a retail device. Where did you buy it? The Wifi signal would have nothing to do with the internet, kind of like the range on a cordless phone has nothing to do with the phone service.
Do you know how the Wifi is configured? Depending on your devices, you might be able to change to the "802.11 mode" to N only. That might help speed, but range is a more basic problem. You might need to upgrade to a router with a higher gain antenna or if the DIR-615 you have has removable antenna, you can upgrade those too. See here.

One thing to check ... go into your router's management and select Advanced/Advanced Wireless. Make sure your Transmit Power is set to High. Another thing to try is to physically move the router and make sure nothing is blocking the antennas. Movement of a few feet can make a big difference in signal strength.
A basic setting to check ... what channel are you using (Setup/Wireless Settings)? Select 1, 6 or 11, use the one that gives the best result. HTH.
