Losing Internet during bad weather.

Funny, I went from DSL to cable for more speed, and chose cable over satellite because I've seen satellite not work during bad weather. Now, when the weather is bad, I lose Internet. It's intermittent, one minute it works, next minute doesn't work, then works again. Only happens when it's rainy weather, but if it were a water in the cable problem seems like it wouldn't be so intermittent and there would be some delay once the rain stops as the connection dries. Digital TV still works fine. I ran new RG6 cable from the splitter and used the good PPC compression fittings so I'm disinclined to believe it's a cabling problem on my end. There's no water getting to any connections.

What has others experience been in this situation? I haven't called Cox yet; I do my own cabling so I'm a little afraid they'll just say that something needs redone just because it might not be the way they might do it.

If the problem is only exhibited during bad weather it stand to reason that the modem looks good now.  It's most likely however there is water intrusion somewhere in the cabling probably not inside of course.  Having a technician come out to troubleshoot is probably going to be necessary.  If they come out and find all is well at your house they would open a ticket with our maintenance team to investigate further.
