Lifetime activation on Apple TV

Why can't I activate Lifetime App on Apple tv, in the past I was able to activate other channel apps.  Cox is not listed as a provider, but every other cable company seems to be listed.  Could you add Cox to list of providers for this channel on  apple tv?

Thank you

I'll be happy to submit programming requests for both of you, thanks for sharing.

Any update on this? I can't even watch a recent Lifetime episode on my iPad anymore and I used to be able to. I'd really like to watch a show on either my iPad or Apple TV. I couldn't DVR it because it was the new fall season show lineup and I had 2 other shows being recorded :(

thanks!

I'll put in your programming request.  Don't forget you can also watch Lifetime live on your iPad using the Cox TV Connect or Contour mobile app while on your home wifi connection.

I think it is time to get rid of Cox Cable. They do not support any activation for channels like lifetime, History or A&E. What's up with that.

I too find this frustrating.  I pay over $200/mo to Cox and I can not log into some of these apps on Apple TV to watch what I want when I want.

Sorry but On Demand is pretty weak considering shows expire before the season is even over, half the time shows and stations are not available and other times there is no content in a station.

And before you say it; if I wanted to watch TV on my tablet, phone or laptop then I would not have bought a TV.

I could see if my monthly bill were reasonable but it is very high and unfortunately where I live this is my only choice for a cable provider or I would change.

Please add me as another disappointed customer to the list, and place a request to add cox as a provider for lifetime on Apple tv

*****ATTENTION: Chris the Mod******

please add us to that list as well.

Our household pays $257 per month to cox for services and we are still unable to watch History Channel via our apple tv's.

I understand that you created the cox streaming apps, but in all honesty the quality of the app interface and the heavy video compression used makes for an extremely lackluster experience. And why have you disabled airplay within the app? Why no support for jailbroken or rooted devices?

Are you not paying A+E Networks the licensing fee because you already paid one for use in your mobile streaming platform?

@ppeinado

I'll submit your request as well.  To address some of your concerns, the content licenses only allow for viewing on the device itself.  Because of this air play and rooted devices are disabled to enforce this requirement.  For TV viewing the option to watch via the set top box remains.

CHRIS L - the issue is not watching it live... Have a TV for that. The issue is when I want to watch shows I've missed. Like when I'm out of town. Sometimes my DVR is full before I return and I'd like to watch a missed show.... After all I pay over $200 a month for my account. Might have to drop Cox and give HULU my money.

I too would like to know why I suddenly can't watch H2 through my Apple TV because Cox isn't listed as a provider.  I had previously activated H2 and had watched a considerable amount of programming up to within the past few weeks.  And I expect more of an explanation other than "I will put in your programming request"!  If I have to, I'll get all my Facebook friends to start putting in requests and also file a complaint with the Public Utilities Commission, as well as local television and finally switch to Verizon who is listed among the providers...

Hi Bruce,

We can only support services that are listed on our Online Content and Access Paths. Here's a link to the article on our website. I'm not showing that we ever offered H2. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Well, I guess I could ask about this one again, here.  I have a Roku box, and my service from Cox includes Epix.  As others have noted, sometimes content is available from the site that is not currently "on the air".  However, even though Cox is listed among the providers, I cannot activate my Roku device at Epix.  Apparently, the only devices Cox permits to be activated at "small screen" such as tablets and phones.

I have spent a fair amount of time on the phone with Cox, Epix and Roku support, and there really is nothing to do except pay for yet another  subscription to Epix.  What a wonderful time to  be a  consumer!

Cox won't add it because they are trying to force you to pay for their contour service.  Complain to the corporation commission in your state and write to the channel and ask for them to do like HBO and provide their content without cable.  The only way to fix this is to hit cox in the wallet.

I too am disappointed that I can't watch several of the channels that I pay for through Cox but not able to get on Apple TV. I would really like to watch A&E programming on my time but apparently Cox isn't listed as a provider? Really?
