I just upgraded to Preferred High speed 25 x 5. my cable modem is a docis 3.0 Netgear CG3000D. Using the Cox speed test I have NEVER got 25 x 5. I get 9.47 x 7.91, 14.11 x 11.56. Using www.speedtest.net, I get 30.49 x 6.78. Has the upgrade to my account been completed. to preferred w/speed boost? What about firmware for the modem?? Which is the reliable test??

We are reading some occasional timeouts, so double-check your cable connections to make sure everything is secure, but we're not getting any packet loss to the modem and ping times are good.
If you're still seeing low speeds with our speed test on a wired connection (wireless shouldn't be used for troubleshooting speed issues), we can troubleshoot further.

Having a similar issue. Currently have Preferred High Speed and only getting 9mbps download according to the Cox website. What gives?
Getting 9Mbps download and 9Mbps upload, this can't be right.

Router is giving me this, do I have a bad router? Currently renting a Netgear CG3000D from Cox.

@Fitz You might be better off starting your own thread since I think your issue might be for a different reason. Those look like T3 errors, probably from a cable signal problem. The original post seemed more about configuration and firmware. I would suggest starting a new thread and include your signal levels.

The modem logs for your show the wifi channel constantly changing channels due to interference. Could you try testing with a wired connection and see if you get the same results?

Yea it's been doing that for months on the wireless. I've had an Ethernet cable plugged in since that started. Those tests were done wired.

I am curious how you were able to see his wireless channels. Does Cox have that kind of monitoring ability of it's gateways? I am impressed.

The channel changing could be another symptom of a bigger equipment issue. It might be a good idea to arrange for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further. He/she can try a test modem and see if you get better results.

The gateway in question actually logs these events in with the rest of the log data. That part of the log just wasn't posted here.

OK to ALL. Everything has NOW started working properly!! I am getting consistant speeds on COX speed test and Speedtest.net; 32.6 x 19.21 and 24.25 x 6.77. I tried everyones suggestions. and yesterday I went to Netgear support and I think the tech corrected the problem in the Modem.

Could you explain? What did the Netgear Tech do? If others have the problem it would be helpful to document the solution. thanks
