Hello, I recently moved to a place by myself and have setup Cox Internet. I got the same package I had where I moved from but there I had a roommate. As the only person in the home is the basic "High Speed Internet Essential" package actually viable?
I used the data usage estimator and added my devices and thats what came up. It seems low but that could be because I am in a one person household now. My devices and expected usage are as follows.
Laptop - basic websurfing, emails, banking, and shopping - 1 hour per day
Smart Blu-Ray Player - streaming Netflix (in HD), Hulu Plus, and HDX Movies from Vudu service - 2 hours per day
Xbox 360 - online gaming - 1-2 hours per day
Smart Phone - basic searches, minimal video watching - minimal usage per day
I was just curious if anyone else who lives alone and has a similar setup found the basic internet package suitable for their needs. From what I read it seems the biggest reason for a higher speed is when multiple devices are in use and for me that won't be an issue.
Also, can I change the internet package for a month and see if it is suitable for me or is it like a cell phone thing where you are locked in for 12 months or something. I probably should have checked that in the beginning, heh.
Thank you for your time and effort. All thoughts welcome.
