Inernet slow down during Mcafee scan
Why does my Internet Explorer totally freeze up when Mcafee is scanning my computer.IT REALLY **!! Then when it finishes my internet is still slow. I had to install Chrome to use the internet during a scan. I am telling my friends not to go with the internet speed we have, because it makes DSL look like a Jack-Rabbit

The process doing a full PC scan for viruses can be very resource intensive regardless of which vendor's product you can use. Typically it's more than just the Internet that slows down. You can go into the settings and configure it to run after hours if the PC is usually left on.

I have this same problem on my Dell desktop; the reason is "MacAfee!" It is a middle of the road product. Read this PCMAG article <http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2369749,00.asp?obref=obnetwork> and you will want to dump MacAfee; I am as MY TIME cannot be replaced... "if something isn't working, trash it" is my motto. MacAfee support is also very painful for me, but no longer, Cheers!
