High Def channels no longer earlier than standard channels

The high def channels used to come on earlier than the standard channels by an hour or 2. For example, 23 and 1023 or 36 and 1036. What happened? Now both come on at the same time, which is the late time, so shows like Gold Rush come on at 9 and 10 for the new ones instead of 7 and 8. That is a little late for me and loved it when it was earlier. Why did they stop that? This is for Cox in Tucson.

Cox is just slowly converting from the East Coast feed to the West Coast feed on their HD channels so they are in sync with the SD channels. Just record them and watch them the next day.

Ultimately the networks decide whether your feed will be supplied on an East or West coast feed. It appears they formerly provided the East Coast feed which would have given you the show earlier. When this was changed to the appropriate time zone, you now receive it at the correct time. I understand you say it's on a bit late for you. Have you considered subscribing to DVR service to allow you to record & watch your programming at your convenience?

I guess I will look into that now. Some shows I can watch on demand but some are not there, so DVR sounds like it would be best.
