Frequent intermittent connections

I'm constantly having network communication errors (dropped internet) with my Cox internet.   I originally thought it was an issue with the previous Cisco wifi modem I had gotten from Cox so I took it in and replaced it with a Netgear model.   The issue continues to persist.  It happens randomly throughout the day/night and can be counted on to happen frequently.

I've done plenty of research on the issue and it appears to be quite widespread but I've yet to find an actual solution to the problem. One thing that a few people said worked for them was to call Cox and have the wifi modem "re-provisioned" on their network, but seeing as how I just replaced the entire unit with a completely different make and model, I have little faith this will work and even less patience to sit on hold for 30 minutes - an hour to try it.

I can provide logs from the router itself and also use Wireshark to monitor my network.  As I often telecommute and my job depends upon my internet connection, I am looking for a quick and efficient resolution to this issue.

One of the first things I'd try is to see if you get the same issues using a wired connection.  I do see in the router logs that it's showing a lot of wifi channel changes due to interference.  To correct that issue you can log in to the router at http://192.168.0.1 and try manually setting the wireless channel to 1, 6, or 11.

Chris, thanks for the response.

What I failed to mention in my previous post, was that I have tried both a wireless and a wired connection.  If the issue was isolated to one system, I would try it again, but it is network wide.

Every single computer and device connected, regardless of being wired/wireless connections, lose communication with the internet.

I'm actually seeing a number of things going on from this end suggesting that you may actually be experiencing multiple unrelated problems.  Some of which being high transmit power levels reported by the gateway, intermittent lost sync events, and the wifi keeps changing channels due to area interference.  It may be beneficial to arranging for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further.

Chris,

What do I need to do to arrange that?

Thanks!
