This was happening to me before I left on vacation (before Christmas). I was hoping it would be fixed by now. My computer has been running fantastic since I've been on several different servers. Sure wasn't doing that using Cox at home.

The DCM-202 modems are well beyond end of life. I'd suggest setting up a visit by a tech to come check for signal issues and/or try a test modem if necessary to see if that helps.

Can you suggest SOLID alternative to replace the DCM-202?
Motorola SB6121 seems to have similar issues.

I upgraded to the SB6121 and a netgrear n300 for router a few months back. ever since new years time, I have been getting increasing spotty connections. just now I've restarted my router and modem for the 4th time in 3 hours. I just keeps going in and out. Up until a few days ago I've had no issues at all and I have not changed a thing.

In your particular case you may have purchased a modem only to realize there is more likely a signal issue to the equipment. When I look at the status from here the signal levels are out of specification. It may be time to arrange for a technician to come out and take a look.

Tech paid us a visit yesterday evening. Seems there is a line noise issue and we have another visit scheduled to isolate source of noise. How do we determine if the noise is coming from within our house or from a neighboring customer?
He tried a Cisco DPC3010 modem but it proved no better then our existing DCM-202.
