So it's now been several years, and this forum is having the same problem. Both the webpage footer and the MCEtoolbar plugin will just hang sometimes on load. Sometimes pressing escape(stop) will "fix" it, but as of right now that isn't working. I can make a new thread, but I can't reply to anyone. Tried multiple browsers. This has been a ongoing issue that I have made atleast 4 seperate threads on, and a moderator always says "We will look into it" or "We have put a ticket in" but never any follow up. Could someone go back and actually look at those tickets? Part of the moderators job is to maintain and troubleshoot the forum, and so far I have not seen that done.

And now its working. It only happens for like 20-40min at a time, but sometimes several times a day. What makes it frustrating is when the HTML tool bar doesn't load, it will still let you type a reply, but not post it. So I will spend a decent amount of time to research and write a post...only for it to go into the internet ether. Makes it hard to want to invest into this forum. I can only imagine moderators experience it more...then again I think some of us actually post more then the mods. I will be sure to make a new thread on it each time it happens. Updating past threads doesn't seem to get the same attention.

When the page wouldn't load, my first thought was that something was wrong with my computer or browser. I was glad to read that i was not alone. The earliest response to this question(first asked in 2014) was that this forum is not hosted by Cox. It is on a separate website (rackspace. com?). I wonder if Cox would put more money into the forum if more people started using it (circular argument.... people won't use a site that won't load).

Tiffany...no offense, but did you read my post? Can you look at one of the other tickets you have made? What were those findings? What is the point of making a ticket if you don't follow up? Also, have Moderators been experiencing the issue? Have YOU, Tiffany, been experiencing the issue?

"What makes it frustrating is when the HTML tool bar doesn't load, it will still let you type a reply, but not post it."
Put cox.com in Compatibility View in IE. Since I did that over a year ago the issues you're describing have all but disappeared. I get a page hang maybe once a week or so for only a few minutes at a time and the toolbar always shows.
On a related note, Google Fiber is in discussions with San Diego city officials to bring their service here. So hopefully I can soon throw away my ever growing list of workarounds for Cox HSI.

So the work around for using a crappy forum is to use a even more crappy browser? Haazaaah. Cox, setting the bar so low you would think they play limbo.
Thanks for the tip, I will try it next time the problem occurs. I would still like to hear from Tiffany.

Well that didn't take long. Broke again about a hour ago for 40min. Tried MSIE 11 in compatibility mode, no difference.
Any other moderators want to give input other then "We put in a ticket"? You guys can talk like normal people right?

My guess is that nothing was ever done to follow up on the ticket that had been submitted previously as the issue we're experiencing from time to time is not a priority for Cox... those who are insulated by tech support and people like the moderators here couldn't care less that the forums, which are hosted on an arguably unreliable server, are not functioning as we'd like. A thousand tickets can be issued and the matter "escalated" to the nth degree and nothing will get done.

Well, yes, I think we all know this to be true. And if a moderator even HINTED at that I wouldn't be so ticked. But don't pretend we are stupid.
If a ticket was made, whats the ticket number? I will have a couple friends that work at Cox look into it. Once I have the ticket number, I will have the account the ticket is tied to, and should be able to look up every single ticket. Thats should be what the moderators do before even putting in another ticket, unless the definition of insanity has changed since last I checked.

Do you think a year is a reasonable timeframe to fix a problem with a website? If any of those tickets are from my threads, they must atleast be 6months old. What kind of notes are on the ticket? Can you give me ANY steps that have been taken or any improvements that have been made? Whats one of the ticket numbers?

Cool... However it was stalling again this morning... maybe another ticket is in order. Perhaps someone can escalate it to a special group that will vote on on forming an ad hoc committee for the purpose of discussing the possibility of examining previous tickets anew in order to determine the most appropriate location a subcommittee can gather and outline a potential plan to deliberate the parameters of a framework on which specific dedicated technicians can debate the possibility of forming more subcommittees and focus groups to outline a plan to consult with previous debates concerning possibly escalating future and aforementioned tickets for the purpose of outlining a transitional strategy for voting on escalated and unescalated tickets for the possibility of eliminating redundant placebo button measures and reducing paperwork and combating climate change as it pertains to issues involving turtle migrations and slow forum transfer speeds happening on days that do not end in the letter "y"...

Still broke. Happened 3 times tonight. So it's NOT maintenance. Maintenance doesn't randomly happen multiple times at random times. Cox, should I call Rackspace for you? You seem incapable of troubleshooting the problem. If you want to prove me wrong, show me your data. What have you done so far?
If you have any questions or concerns in regards to this maintenance, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our support team via live-chat or by telephone 24-hour toll free 1.877.934.0407 and INTL +1.210.581.0407.

Happened again this afternoon. This time I could load pages, but the plugin wasn't loading. Tried Chrome and MSIE 11 in compat mode. Was able to capture the error.

I have faith that one of the tickets already created will be accelerated... once they get past the steep and very long hill they're currently climbing. That will enable another, better and improved ticket to be created and made ready to accelerate at a moment's notice... once someone with some pull is willing to donate the posterior of a medium sized rodent.
