Feature request! Proxy server or VPN service

Hello everyone,

Many people want to hide/encrypt their internet traffic for privacy and/or security reasons. But they don't know whether they can trust the VPN or proxy services that currently offer to help with that need. Personally, I would feel much more comfortable getting such a feature from Cox; I speculate that I'm not the only person who feels that way.

Imagine if Cox offered a proxy server that accepts SSH connections. Many Cox customers have housemates sharing their Cox internet, using a wifi router. Each housemate could enjoy privacy if they are willing to do a little setup work, so that nobody else can monitor their internet traffic. See http://lifehacker.com/237227/geek-to-live--encrypt-your-web-browsing-session-with-an-ssh-socks-proxy for an example discussion of how this can be done.

Also, people need security and privacy when they use public wifi outside the home. So the server ideally would accept connections from places other than just the customer's house.

Cox already handles our internet traffic anyway. They seem like the perfect entity to offer such a service.

Thank you all for reading this!
