Essential Internet (15mbps) only getting 6mbps

Problem: Hulu Plus is freezing like crazy even though Netflix works fine. (Netflix automatically lowers stream quality to match bandwith)

Symptoms: Cox Speed test returns 6mbps download speed even though advertised as 15mbps.  Xbox One speed test only returns 2-3mpbs with up to 27% packet loss.

Equipment: NETGEAR N300 Wi-Fi DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Router (C3000) attached to 100ft coax cable no splitters,  Xbox One and HP Envy I7 with 12gb ram.

Troubleshooting tried: I've powercycled everything. Haven't called a tech yet because I don't want to spend $50 if I don't have to.

Ideas?

Could you for starters try visiting http://192.168.100.1 and posting the signal status info and modem logs?  There may be some clues there as to what is happening.

Some of those downstream channels are showing low SNR which is usually an indicator of a noise problem and I'm also seeing some packet loss to the modem.  Are there any cable splitters you can try bypassing to see if that helps?

Come on, "support". Note that the original email said coax connected to modem WITH NO SPLITTERS.

Get a reading from the tap? If SNR bad there? If so, get a technician. Won't cost you money if before d-mark.

If SNR is good there, and don't want to pay cox, then hire a electrician or explore how hour house is wired. Do you only have 1 outlet in entire dwelling? That is pretty rare.
