I went online thinking I was paying a bill as I always do through one time payment. However, it appears I enrolled in Easy Pay instead, though this was the only option given to me at the time. I have contacted my cox representative like your FAQ's forum advised and I was told that I could not make this request over the phone but I could do it online or go to a cox service center. I have now been trying for about an hour to figure out how to cancel easy pay, since I have now already made a payment through one time pay, and have NOT been successful. I work full time and I don't have the time to make it to a service center before it closes. I need to get this canceled before the next billing cycle and make sure Cox doesn't charge me twice. Honestly, the customer service is horrible, the services are sub par and the prices are ridiculous. It's unfortunate that Cox has created such a monopoly on this area.
If anyone has any advice on how to get this changed on my account, I am all ears.

Maybe there some confusion on the part of the person you spoke with. Changes to EZ Pay indeed need to be made by the customer either by mail or on the website. Canceling EZ Pay however can be done over the phone.
