DVR video files

Two questions.  I have a 9865 WHDVR

1) Is it possible to backup video files from the DVR?

2)  I can see the video files from a DLNA/UPNP client but they won't play. I"ve tried several different software players.  Is there a setting on either the DVR or the player that I'm missing?

Backing up content isn't permitted by our content license and blocked by the box.  Viewing of content via DLNA will work if your viewer supports DTCP-IP.  Windows Media Player won't work if I recall however you can actually enable DTCP-IP on a Playstation 3 and view content.
