This happened to me before & I posted about it. Didn't get a resolution, but I can seem to post on the old thread.
Today Outlook downloaded all my emails on the cox server again. Not just recent emails but all the emails currently on the server (I keep them on for 120 days or something like that).
I do not believe this is an outlook problems as I've not changed settings nor has Office done any updates lately. I wonder if something changed on the server to make them look like new emails that haven't been downloaded.
Anyone else experience anything like this. It certainly will be a pain to go back and delete them manually (over 5K emails were downloaded today). Does anyone know of a way to handle that faster/easier?

In this case you may want to move or delete the messages in your Inbox that continue to download from the server. Then try to send a test email message, monitor the activity let's see if the same thing happens again.

Every single message held on the server downloaded a second time. It did it this morning and hasn't done it since. This means I have over 5000 emails to delete. Since I don't know any other way to do it, I am going to have to MANUALLY delete 5000 emails. That is going to take a huge amount of time.
The same thing happened several weeks ago. It never happened before that
