Main DVR box HDMI card went bad per Service Technician visit. Guy tells me that reception on my 2015 Smart tv will be just as good with Component connection. Sounds like a load of ** from a technician that is too lazy to repair or replace my box, It;s a HDMI card for Pete's sake, how hard can it be to change. The best part is the tech tells me "I" can just take box to a cox store and they will replace it. So I took off work so you can come to my house and tell me I can take off work again and drive across town and return my box for a new one. I have a better idea, how about I return all of my boxes and cancel services. This along with recent billing issues have forced me to start researching alternate providers of cable/internet, turns out there are quite a few and they are less expensive.

I would agree that the technician should have been able to swap the box out. If you don't want to exchange it at one of our solutions stores we can see about scheduling a technician to come back out if you prefer.

Have a technical question? Or are you even aware that this is a technical discussion forum?

I think the question is "Why do Cox contractors ***" and "Why is that OK with Cox"? I would like to know what Cox has to say. They make more problems then they solve. They cost both Cox and customers money. I had a contractor installer over yesterday that didn't even know about the 192.168.100.1 of the modem? Does Cox train these people at ALL? Or do they outsource to the lowest bidder and don't do QC?

Teck, that's not unique to Cox. Last winter I rented a condo in FL and had Brighthouse connect basic cable (minibox) and internet (modem only, I brought my own router). First appointment was done by a contractor ... he gave me nothing but a hard time & left without doing anything. I know my agreement with customer service & the contractor tried to collect 3 times the agreed upon price. Next appointment was with an employee ... he installed everything and collected the agreed price .... in and out in less than an hour. So ... contractors are the same regardless of being down south up here in the northeast.

I agree afishanado... on all his issues. Cox has been the biggest mistake I've made with television.. ** that i cant watch a complete show without pause and continues on off audio. I pay a great deal of money each month for a service thats not satisfactory EVER.. I think its really time i change to one of the satellite companies because this is ridicules.....

We can help you with the issues you're having with your TV. I would hate to see you switch providers over some issues we can fix. Can you email us at cox.help@cox.com and include your account information so we can look into this for you? Thanks!
