If the Data Usage Meter is a measurement taken daily how can any daily measurement change a week later? Doesn't this point to problems with this meter? Since this meter seems to used to warn when the data limit is approaching how can I rely on the accuracy... especially when i've increased my account from 350gb to 700gb and, with no change in daily habits, my usage is somehow magically reaching 75% of 700gb? Do I need to file an FCC complaint? If Cox is using the meter to sell (extort) data plans then I'm pretty sure this would be illegal.

One thing I'd check for is possible data usage you may not be aware of. Do you have any Bittorrent software running by chance? Often times that can run in the background and allow other Internet users access to content on your computer. This traffic would all count towards your monthly allowance.
