Concur grey screen
Is it common to have to reboot the dvr every few weeks? Periodically when choosing a taped program to watch I get a grey screen and everything freezes including choosing a live program to watch. I have to boot the dvr and then everything works again.

It's not uncommon to occasionally have to reboot a box to fix minor issues. Whether or not every few weeks is excessive is probably subjective although we'd like to minimize the need to do that. Do you have problems with any other equipment in your home?

I have a Cisco whole house dvr (Concur) with 2 HD receivers. Twice in the last two months, we get a grey screen when trying to view recorded shows. When this happens, it affects all the receivers and the dvr and we can't control anything with the remotes. Can't change channels or watch recorded shows, everything seems frozen. The only thing the remote works is turning off the dvr. After rebooting the dvr, everything works again. The family records and watches a lot of programs and I'm wondering if the large volume of recorded shows is causing the problem.

Both. It happens when trying to watch on either of the boxes or the DVR.
