Last night, Sunday, March 1, 2015 I had two shows which were "Clipped". The first being Secrets and Lies on 1010 from 9:00 to 11:00 pm. It was clipped after 107 minutes. The second show was The Last Man on Earth which was on 1005 at 9:00 to 10:00 pm. It was clipped at 47 minutes. I have a Contour setup and there were no conflicts as I did not have more that 6 shows being recorded and/or lapping over at the same time. So could someone please explain why this happens?
Thank you.

By "clipped" do you mean that the DVR recording stopped after 107 minutes? If so, that would certainly upset me, too! Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this.
Other than these two shows, what else was programmed to record in the 8PM - 11PM timeframe? Since there are times when some series episodes are not scheduled to air precisely at the top or bottom of the hour, Contour has an auto-clipping function to prevent recording conflicts. While this shouldn't be a factor if all 6 tuners weren't in use, it may play a part in what happened last night. There may be something going on with one of the tuners that isn't immediately apparent.
If a scheduled series recording episode overlaps with other scheduled series recordings by 20% or less, DVR will automatically clip the series episode having a lower priority so that the highest priority series episode will be recorded in its entirety. The series episode of lower priority will still be recorded, although up to 20% of content may be clipped from its beginning or end to accommodate the series episodes of higher priority. This prevents the lower priority series episode from not getting recorded at all because it conflicted with other series episodes.
If you press the DVR List button on the remote control and select Missed Recordings, is there anything listed for March 1, 2015? If yes, highlight the recording that didn't complete. What description is given for why the recording didn't complete?
