Abominable Drop Down Menus!!!

Why doesn't COX care enough to let its tech hamsters FIX the stinking drop down menus? I HATE menus that "GET IN MY FACE" every time I roll over ANY of them. They didn't use to do that, but COX "fixed" it. I can't even mouse over my main email page without a FACE FULL of CRAPPOLA! It STINKS!! Call me a newbie if you want. I've "only" been using this junky coxmail since 2005 A.D.

The main page menus do not have a way to be disable them, however for Webmail you can login through Enhanced instead of the Classic view to load a different page and not display the services/account menus.

Yea..it is. Pretty much all ISP email is **, because they don't spend alot of money on it. Im glad they don't. I kind of wish they would stop supporting email all together and maybe drop the bill a buck or two. They are a ISP not a ESP.

PS. The cool kids use Gmail.

I have the Same Complaint that Snoopy Mutt has with the DROP DOWN MENU!! It didn't use to be there, who wanted it on there? If it had been changed it can be unchanged. I know something about the software that you can do what needs to be done. I doubt that we are the only ones that feel this way. If you change it back to no drop down menu you sure won't have anyone complain because it is GONE! I have been thinking about changing my Internet to someone else. I doubt they have drop down menu's unless you want them. There should be a way someone can delete the setting for it. Do you have that? I don't care about email it is all the rest of the time that bothers me. Please check into the problem. Undo what you did and put it back like it was 1 year or go.

You can, its called Greese Monkey, but its beyond the scope of this forum. The drop down function doesn't bother me much personally, but I don't use Cox.net except for this forum...and maybe to pay the bill. I don't understand the anger though. Its a site design. Its like going into a restaurant and complaining loudly about the lighting. Put in a suggestion, fine, but I don't see why there is any reason to get upset about it. Do you have that?

Reply to Health Edge If you don't use the Cox why do you care about other's opinion? I'm sure it doesn't bother you since you don't use it. It didn't use to have the drop down menu. If they put it in the software they should be able to take it out to make their customers HAPPY.

I didn't realize people actually used the Cox email.  There are plenty of free email services (gmail, Yahoo, Outlook) that have much better UI's and support staff specifically dedicated to them.  I would recommend switching.

KNOWN Government snooping notwithstanding, "Yoohoo" (which I have) and "Giggle", which I hate, ALL snoop on EVERY email that passes thru their servers. Cox email does NOT. That is why I continue to use it as one which is accessable to me from any internet connected computer in the country. The "cool kids", including some of my own children, are patently stupid, and sonewhat lazy.

"If you have nothing to hide, then why do you care about snooping?" Sure, Sergey Brin & Larry Page really SHOULD be privy to any and ALL of our personal information, social situations, family problems, medical issues, and anything ELSE they care to know about. Right??? Cox ADVERTIZES itself as an ESP as well as an ISP, ergo, they SHOULD provide decent service to their customers.

Sadly they care about one thing, and one thing only - in triplicate: Did you pay your bill? Did You Pay Your Bill?? DID YOU PAY YOUR BILL??? As another poster averred, if they changed (broke) it, they can change (fix) it back, but They Don't CARE!!!

I think you mistake Cox's lack of action for lack of caring. When your outsourcing you web design work to China, it's hard to get instant user interaction. But they still care about what the "users" think, the problem is the only interactions with "users" are through these forums and special interest studies, neither of which give a actuate portrayal of the average Cox user. One dumbs it way down, and the other is probably much more sophisticated then the average user.  ::bubble pipe::

You bring up a good point when talking about privacy. But there are different forms of privacy. I wouldn't put a web camera in my bathroom, but I wouldn't mind someone knowing what kind of toilet paper I use. And it's that invasion of of privacy, what products you buy, that Google is very good at. Its what pays for the Google services. I don't know much about Yahoo other then they charge for POP/IMAP access.  Thats a deal breaker for me and any email provider.

And yes, it is Cox's responsibility to remind you of your bill, just like its your responsibility to remind Cox of any service issues, and it seems like your very good at that.

Health Edge, YOU'RE very good at making YOUR point. Yew jist knead 2 werk on "you" speeling uh bit. One issue you still seem to completely ignore IS the fact that Cox made this change to their pages for no apparent good reason, and Cox CAN return things to the way that they were. Their refusal to do so is why I accuse them of not caring. It is probably annoying many thousands of their customers who are too busy, too tired, or too (fill-in-the-blank) to bother with complaining about this issue. Ed H's original reply to me is indicative of the fact that Cox IS aware of this issue.
