Outgoing VM Message Garbled or Cut Off at the Beginning
I have a rather strange problem with my cox voicemail. Intermittently, my greeting is garbled or cut off at the beginning of the script. This happens whether I record a personal greeting or use the default with only first and last name. I have replaced the modem (PW6), checked and re-checked the connections, and rebooted and reset the modem multiple times, all to no avail. I can make and receive calls with no problem, but when I or anyone else calls the number and waits for the voicemail to pick up, the problem occurs about half the time. I have voicemail set to pick up after 4 rings, and have noticed that sometimes one or more of the rings are shorter or longer than usual. I have tried setting voicemail pickup for fewer or more rings, but the problem persists independently of that setting. Does anyone have a clue what could be going on? I have talked to support, and they have suggested it could be a line issue and I might need to have a tech come out. Just thought I would check in here before to see if anyone else has ever had this problem before I go any further. Thanks19Views0likes0CommentsHelp me get back the money I lost that I didn't buy
In March on the 16th or 17th, I bought an iPhone 15 pro max from you with a $300 customer discount, but the order was canceled and a few days later my money was refunded when I bought the phone at 1013.49. $ was reduced by $300, but on April 16, I received a notification via gmail that I had to pay the iPhone 15pro max phone bill for $1013.49 and it would automatically be paid on April 17 and I immediately I was immediately startled, why do I have this bill, this phone was canceled on April 17, why are you charging me extra money and I have never received a phone, I immediately went to the local store for help and they couldn't help so they told me to call cox's support department and I called for support and they transferred me from one department to another and I I still don't know if I will get a refund because on April 17, $1013.49 was deducted from my account and I didn't buy or receive anything. You guys said you would contact me after 48 hours but until now. I still haven't received any calls and I'm very confused as I don't know if I can get my money back because it's a big deal for me, I hope they get refunded, you can check the history. My order can be seen that the iPhone 15pro max I ordered has been canceled and there is no information that I have received the goods and somehow I have an invoice for 1013.49$ for the iPhone 15 pro max that I ordered. cancel16Views0likes2CommentsWhen will cox mobile support Google Pixel phones wi-fi calling?
When we switched to cox mobile from Verizon we were told that in home wi-fi calling was supported. Apparently it is only supported on iPhone and Samsung phones. We need this capability because our home does not have good connectivity to a cell tower. We knew this and made the decision to switch because of the wi-fi calling capability of cox. I have already escalated this through support and they have no answer except to refer to the web page linked above . Samsung phones were enabled in August 2023. I also asked about network extenders which we used to use with Verizon before they rolled out wi-fi calling. Cox mobile does not support network extenders. I know wi-fi calling is possible because we used to have it with Verizon on the same phones we currently have. When will cox mobile roll out in-home wi-fi calling for other android devices like a Google Pixel 7? If there is no firm date or at least a target date, then we will need to switch providers again. Extremely disappointed.24Views0likes1CommentNew Mobile Order
I ordered a new mobile phone (iPhone 15 Pro Max) on November 28, I paid in full amount, when I ordered the phone it was in backorder, estimated delivery date supposed to be December 16. I never received the phone, I kept calling 2-3 times a week, COX couldn’t track my phone, finally they cancel the order around January 2 or 3 week and I kept calling for my money to return, every time I call they say they’re going to escalate the issue, but nothing is happening for last three months, I didn’t get the phone and I’m not getting my money back. On top of it COX is charging me monthly charges for my mobile account which I don’t have a mobile never activated.41Views0likes2Commentsmobile phone service
I ordered an online special from Cox the other day for $9.99 and paid online. On the order confirmation page, there is a message that says, Order pending. Next, let's quickly get in touch. It asks me to call customer service to provide additional information. The transaction reached my credit card. I called the 877 number and provided a rep with my confirmation number. The rep said it is not tied to my account. He eventually tried to get me to pay full price for the same phone. I chatted with 2 reps for over 1/2 hour, went over the problem and was eventually prompted to transfer to phone sales. I placed the order for a phone after logging into my account. I received an email today about an account change. It is very vague and mentions a promotional rate for 1 year that is approximately the amount of the bulk discount I expected to receive with my new mobile plan. I sent my concerns to cox.help@cox.net and have not received a reply. So here I am. There appears to be a technical problem with how Cox support is able to obtain customer information after they order and pay for mobile phone service.Solved49Views0likes3CommentsCox Mobile Plan without Cox Internet

Unfortunately, I have not received any updates regarding my MasterCard gift card till date. I even submitted rebate using the offerid within the time frame and The tracking number still shows as “Pending,” and there has been no further progress. Lost my Cox purchased mobile flip phone. Went to the retail store with substitute iPhone that was approved. Retail store gave me a new SIM card and told me to wait a few hours. It has been 13 days and no activation on my substitute iphone and Cox flip phone still listed in my account. I have spoken to at least 10 techs on this. Responses varied from "wait a few hours" to "it takes 5 working days" to "I can only escalate this to our highest tech support in Atlanta". I even received another SIM card from Allison who thought that might work. I just can't understand why the lost flip phone cannot be removed from the system by the local retail store. From what I can gather, the deletion of a mobile phone in the system to be replaced by another phone also in the system is not in the script the techs follow so they just come up with their own response to make the customer go away. Now I am waiting for the tech support gurus in Atlanta but have no idea when they might get back to me or even confirmation that they received my ticket. What is it going to take?166Views1like6CommentsUnable to Unlock iphone !
Hi Team , I am trying to unlock my phone after 4 months, I purchased a mobile (Iphone 15 pro) from Cox. There is no due pending from my end. So I followed the instruction here https://www.cox.com/residential/support/unlocking-your-device-on-coxcom.html, it was successful , then i ported out my number to another service provider , when the new provider tried to add esim on my phone - Iphone 15 pro , it says phone is still locked by carrier. then contacted cox phone support and chat support, they said that phone cannot be accessed online, because service was already disconnected and today morning to access the mobile online, I got a new line (temporarily), which was recommended by tech support but post activating the new line, when I tried unlocking it online, now it says your mobile was not brought from cox!for each and every call request handled by call support, they transfer to another department, different people multiple times and because of lack of knowledge or lack of any desire to provide good service, no one was able to support and the issue is not resolved yet, Till now my phone is locked and every time I call cox phone support , each and every person shares new information. The phone support or the chat support aren't able to do anything and I believe the system has issues and it should be resolved through their backend tech support of the system to restore the device but no one actually is helping here, this is so shocking and pathetic.94Views0likes3CommentsEmail not working.

I see a few old threads on this issue, but they are a few years old, so starting a fresh one. Over the last few months callers have complained that their audio on calls is very choppy and they can't carry on a conversation. From my end at home, the calls sound fine. But we usually have to call them back on our cell phone to carry on a conversation. Our equipment includes the Panoramic Gateway (CGM4331COM) with 3 CiOne wireless cable boxes. The internet service is fine (gigabit service) and tests consistently at 800-900 Mbit. TV video/audio quality is perfect on all three CiOne attached TVs. We use a top-end Panasonic wireless phone system with base and 5 handsets. The base unit is cabled directly to the Gateway's phone jack, so no house telephone wiring is involved. Since the issue occurs regardless of which phone handset is in use,I figured perhaps we were having a phone issue with the Base Unit. I got a brand-new AT&T phone to try out. Unfortunately, there was no difference during calls. So, it appears not to be our phone. Does anyone have any experience with this issue, and if solved, what was required. I plan to call Cox support as well. Thanks in advance. Jim in Falls Church VASolved233Views1like11CommentsVoicemail won't pick up
What would cause my voicemail to not pickup on some incoming calls that say unknown caller? Some unknown incoming calls do go to the voicemail but not all of them. The ones that don't go to the voicemail just keep ringing my phone endlessly. The only way I can stop these unknown incoming calls to stop my phone from ringing is to answer the phone and then hang up. I have no idea who is calling me because they don't say anything when I ask them who is calling and the calls also don't even show up in the voicetools either.149Views0likes15CommentsNeed to get transfer pin to switch from Cox mobile
I transferred my mobile phone number that I have had for years to Cox mobile to check out the service. Now I want to port that number to a different mobile carrier, I need to provide that carrier with an account number and a transfer pin. I called customer service and was told that Cox would have to cancel the phone service. I was hesitant to do so because this would leave me without a phone number that I have used for the past 20 years. (Cox provides the following instructions when transferring a mobile number to Cox: Do not cancel service with your current carrier until you’ve successfully transferred your phone number to Cox Mobile. To transfer your phone number to Cox Mobile, you’ll need account information from your previous carrier, including your account number and a transfer PIN) It made no sense to me that to transfer to Cox mobile I was told not to cancel prior service but to transfer from Cox mobile to another carrier I have to cancel Cox mobile before the transfer???Other carriers provide a transfer pin before a transfer which can be given to the new service provider to begin the transfer process. Does anyone know how I can get a transfer pin without cancelling my Cox mobile service until the new carrier reaches out to Cox mobile to begin the port out process?1.1KViews0likes1CommentCox Mobile Number Swap

My father's phone number was ported to another carrier. He didn't want that, but who knows what the other company said or did. In my option they were preying on the elderly. I am hoping that there is a way stop this from happening again by locking it down somehow. Is this kind of thing possible? Maybe require an additional verification step on the Cox side of the transfer so there is a double check before the transfer happens? When this happened, it took about a week to figure out why the phone stopped working, and then a week to get the number ported back from the other carrier so it was pretty frustrating. Thoughts? My new IPhone 15 pro max arrived yesterday. I activated my phone with a new number instead of transfering a number. Unfortunately getting a new number from Cox was a big mistake. Called Cox Mobile to get our port-out PINs two days ago. The tech texted them to me. I explained I was going to another carrier and would be taking our numbers. Before the call actually ended, he disconnected our service. The calls my wife and I were on were cut off and since then I've been trying to get our old (20+ year old) cell numbers back. Initially (within 60 minutes of the disconnect), I was told the numbers were lost forever. Period, the end. I kept pressing and ended up talking to someone who seemed convinced his team could resurrect the numbers. They actually have a team dedicated to this. He was tremendously helpful and told me they'd get the numbers back "100%." Well, the timeframe he gave me came and went without success and instead we received new SIM cards that apparently have new numbers attached to them. Online activation for Cox advises our old numbers are not eligible for transfer. The very helpful guy gave me his contact number but it requires an extension (which he didn't give me) so today I've spoken to another 5 or 6 reps trying to get help. The last guy I spoke to (in the loyalty dept) told me he'd be talking to tech support and getting back to me. He never got back to me. Anyone know a way to get the old numbers back? May seem a small issue, but the numbers are tied to business, to online verification of accounts, etc., for over 20 years. Any help would be appreciated. I cannot believe that an inadvertent keystroke on Cox's end could flush away our old numbers in an instant without any chance of retrieval. Seems other carriers (even MVNOs) can retrieve the numbers in these situations.83Views0likes0CommentsCox Mobile

This may be beating a dead horse (and I suspect it is) but is there actually any way to disable Call Waiting through the Voice Tools interface and have it remain disabled? I've just downgraded my service dropping cable TV (finally) after the cost went up by 50% this month. Thanks for giving me the motivation to ditch this overpriced nonsense. Updating my service seemed to trigger sending me the latest version of the cable modem--the one that looks like a miniature white Leaning Tower of Pisa. Years back I was informed that COX was powerless to make my choice for Call Waiting to be activated or deactivated stick as the previous modem had "burned in" defaults that it would reset to whenever the modem reset. I thought it odd that a communications company would be held hostage to the supposed design specs of a modem but I was told by a high-level area manager that COX was powerless to make sensible changes to the system and I'd just have to continue to log in and disable Call Waiting through the Voice Tools repeatedly. I never believed that excuse (even for a poorly managed company like COX who could never solve several other technical issues concerning use of a smart card). I had a small glimmer of hope that a newer generation of cable modem might possibly store my desire to have Call Waiting disabled after a reboot but alas it is still a persistent problem. My last cable provider stored my configuration in a database and downloaded that to the cable modem upon reboot. COX has insisted that this is the modem's fault (apparently every modem they choose to send to its customers) and that choices like Voice Mail and Call Forwarding and Simultaneous Ring are restored from read-only defaults stored in the modem and there is no technical solution possible. Funny that my Voice Mail and Call Forwarding and Nomorobo/Simultaneous Ring settings are preserved after a reboot of the modem but only Call Waiting is forced on my by the evil-minded engineers who designed the cable modem (apparently every different model purchased by COX). I've seen posts here on this forum complaining about similar issues going back many years so this is a well known issues that COX is apparently simply too lazy to resolve. Maybe, if 99% of their user base complained about this bug then someone would be motivated to fix it (and I know it can be fixed because the excuse that the modem won't allow such a fix is transparently BS). I've tried calling customer service (which went nowhere though it made it to the SE area manager). I've tried Chat but we all know that they can't deal with any issues off their tight scripts. In a moment of optimism (uncharacteristic to be sure) I'm posting to this support forum. I'm not expecting any resolution as I assume COX will be intractable in their position that "nothing can be done" as they are held hostage to all the evil manufacturers of cable modems who are so enamored with Call Waiting that it goes against their wishes to allow anybody to opt out permanently.1.7KViews0likes58Commentscall waiting - can't toggle through online interface
