I found out there is a local PBS station in Alabama called APT, which stands for Alabama public TV and the call sign is WEIQ, and the channel is 42. Could this be added to the Cox/Spectrum lineup? PBS is my favorite source of programming. I do not have a smart TV. I do not have an antenna. I pay for Cox contour because I like the convenience. But I miss PBS. If Cox/Spectrum can not add back PBS, I will have to change providers.

Thank you so much! This does give me hope. I’m wondering how I will add these new PBS channels from Emerald Coast if they go through? Or will it be AUTOMATIC?

I emailed Cox/Spectrum as recommended, but I have not heard from them yet. I so miss my PBS that I watched through Cox contour. It was just so handy. I can go to my iPad and watch things on a PBS application but it’s just not as handy or as comfortable for me. I have an older TV that is not easy to stream things too, and even if I can go through the multiple steps, I have to to stream something. It’s not convenient the way contour is that records everything that I program every week and then it’s right there for me to watch.  I love Contour and I so miss my PBS channels

In the past, I had programmed to record all of my favorite PBS shows. there were seven or eight of them and whenever a new episode was broadcast it was automatically recorded. and now I have to search an App on my iPad and a lot of times I just forget about it and end up missing good PBS content.

Do you think Cox/Spectrum will let us know if and when the new Emerald Coast PBS stations are added to the lineup?

I couldn't tell you that because I'm not in that district.  I only looked up the information from what you posted here.  You could try to call the station if they have a Contact Us on their website.
