New change to 1g Internet.

I upgraded from Cox 100M to 1g Internet service. Any tricks to get best Wi-Fi? What service should Spectrum provide?

Hi there. There are no real tricks to getting a good WiFi signal within the home. You would need a good router to network your equipment and that has good range if you are not planning to use the panoramic gateway. The equipment does need to be in a centralized location for equal coverage around the home. I hope that helps. If you have any account-specific questions, please send us a message through our Facebook or X page and we can assist further.

Here are some things that will help.

  1. Make sure you have a good router. I am using the Netgear Nighthawk RS300 with a Netgear CM3000 modem. I have 1 gig service. https://www.speedtest.net/result/19751174358
  2. Make sure the ROUTER is placed as high as you can, NOT under anything, not behind anything. Everything between the wireless router and the device connecting to it, blocks signal and reduces speed.  Do NOT place in a smartbox, (not smart), think Faraday cage.... Don't put in on the floor, behind the tv, etc etc. Up high, so it can reduce the number of objects between the devices connecting.

If you need anything more specific, just ask. I have worked with WiFi since it's inception, and helped write documentation on connecting, setup and troubleshooting Wireless routers.
