Constant modem reset through Cox app

I constantly need to reset my modem through the app to go from 2MBPS to 200MBPS. Usually a few times a day. Why?

My download speeds are the only issue.  For some reason, my upload speeds are consistently good but download go from 200 to 2 MBps frequently

Are you hardwired directly to the modem, router, or wireless?

I have tested speeds both directly to the modem and through wifi.  The speeds are the same so it is not the wifi router.

It seems that once speeds slow down they don't return to normal unless I reset the modem.

Please unplug the modem power cord and unscrew the coax cable on both ends for 2 minutes also unplug the router and leave it like that for testing purposes. Reseat coax cable hand tight power the modem up and hardwired directly to the modem. Once back online run a few speed tests.
