Advertisements
Is it possible to block advertisements, so they won't come into my mailbox? Do I have to do this outside of cox, before I login to cox, or before messages come into my cox mailbox?

Advertisements in email? Such as unsolicited advertising email? LOTS of unsolicited advertising email? That's called spam.
You can try to block it but you'd be spending lots of time creating and editing filters. Quicker to just delete. Don't open it, click within it or bother reporting it.
It's now the cost of Cox email service.
