I have had to do a power reset on my modem daily but its just for my xbox live which is hardlined to the modem. This happened with my previous modem and I'm not sure why this is happening. I tried going wireless but it wont let me play because of IP address discrepencies. Anyone have any ideas? I have a guy coming out tomorrow to look at it but if I can fix it before than I would like to.

What make/model modem and router do you have? Can you tell us more about this IP address discrepancy you're seeing? This would suggest that the router and/or Xbox aren't configured correctly.
