I just noticed the email regarding double the speed in my inbox. Recently we have gone over on our data limitations due to Steam's Summer sale, more streaming via a plethora of streaming services and just about everything in life requiring an internet connection these days. I dug around and found no info on this, but does anyone know if our data limits will go up too?
It is horribly frustrating having to have to ration out data to keep with the archaic limits placed on us when so much is switching to digital. I also wonder sometimes how much of that data limit is just bark from Cox. I have looked all over when you sign up for new service and the data limits are not mentioned anywhere until after you sign up. Even then, they are fairly well buried in the various webpages. Seems kind of bait and switch sometimes.

Data Limits don't double. For example, Premier is 300GB, but if you double the speeds to Ultimate and pay 26 more a month, you only get 100GB more data, 400GB. Yeah, makes no sense to anyone does it? It is indeed archaic isn't it? Since it's so hard to find on the site, maybe someone can post a link to all the data plans. It is indeed like running around in the woods in the dark without a flashlight trying to find some things on this website that they don't really want publicized.

They advertise the data cap now enough times for people to see. Also on the account page its clearly labeled and policies. They keep saying only a low % actually go over but that number has to be increasing as more and more people use more services now and some cut the cord. I really think cox needs to turn their ultimate tier into a huge cap so people would be enticed (1tb) would be pretty good for almost anyone. If someone goes over that 1tb then it probably would be time for a business connection.

The business connections (most of them) are INSANELY overpriced and don't offer more bandwidth than you get on an ultimate connection. I don't know what the data usage is, because again, Cox like to hide this information and they like to hide the upstream speeds too. They need to start listing ALL THE DETAILS on their purchase pages, not just how much downstream a person is buying, to me it makes no sense, when I buy a connection I want to be FULLY INFORMED while I'm shopping online instead of picking up the phone to talk to an first level tech who has no answers, and the couple times I have talked to an "upgrade rep" I found them to be rude and in a big hurry to try to get the sale, I had to hang up on one of them one day because she could not answer the questions I needed answers to and started getting all huffy with me about it. Good god, if you don't know the answer to a question, admit it instead of getting mad and let the customer know, "Sir I'm sorry I really don't have the answer on that, but if you don't mind waiting on hold for a few minutes I'll get it for you." That's all they need to do, THAT is good customer service. If you don't know, then find out. You lose a sale every time when you act like an idiot and get defensive to a customer. Not my problem you didn't listen in your training sessions, I'm just a customer that wants a question answered. Do your job and get the answer.

I'll have to go back through it again, but I did a mock order all the way up until the final button click and I never saw anything in it saying I was agreeing to any kind of data use limitation. Not to say I couldn't have missed something, I have just always had to dig in the site to find it.
But I would be on board for even 750Gb. But I can blow this 3000Gb out of the water. If my family stream Netflix/Hulu/HBOGo/Target Ticket/ etc... in high-def, that alone is about 15Gb per day which kills the 300Gb data limit. Throw in maybe a steam game or PS4 game download a week and you add an extra 9-30Gb. Add on general web and email use, playing on-line games, downloading books and audiobooks to my Kindle Fire and I can EASILY hit 500Gb in a month without breaking a sweat.
***, I would be willing to pay for just extra data use. As far as I am concerned, thew speed is just fine, I shouldn't have to increase my download speed for some extra data usage.

I'm actively looking for an alternative to cox high speed low data internet as I call it. Who do they think they are? Ill take lower speeds for uncapped data any day. I blow past the 300gb monthly and I pay $175/month with my basic tv included .
i plan on getting uncapped internet with someone else even if it's lower speeds and simply getting rid of cox tv altogether. Chromecast/roku/apple tv sound better and better.
