Cox folks,
Just curious as to why my internet service is so o o o o slow lately. I've been happy with the speed, but lately have seen offers to increase speed for $5./month. Are you slowing mine down to push me to take the deal or should I be checking my bundled bill for increases I didn't know about like others I've seen now have commented on?
For a top rated business and one I've been happy with for a long, long, long time, this concerns me. Should I be evaluating my Cox relationship.
Just curious?

I don't see anything from this end that would explain the slow speeds you've encountered. Have you done any speed testing and what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far to try and fix this?

My computer is taking forever to load explorer. So slow I called a computer tech so that I could even log on. I called Cox before and they said everything was fine on their side. The tech checked my computer and I believe there was an IP issue and they fixed it and I was able to connect. I wanted to know why it was so slow to load. He sent me to speedtest.com to have me check my computer out. The speed was varying from slow to fast. It should be more stable and suggested it could be the modem or the router. After the speed test with the router, I plugged directly to the modem and got the same results. He thought that the provider probably has updates they are doing and are just saying that things are fine because we are their customers. Don't feel bad my rates went up $5.00 and I didn't get an upgrade.

Cox needs more tiers. 3MB and 20MB is to big of a gap. They need to have other plans for customers to be competitive. I would say they need 3MB, 10MB, 20MB, 40MB and 60MB. Price it fairly and Cox would be able to compete with AT&T and others. U-Verse is coming soon with AT&T and COX needs to be ready to compete. Now you have to buy more than you need and that is not fair to the customer. I only need about 5MB but would be satisfied with buying 10MB; but now I have to buy 20MB because 3MB is not enough band width.Come on COX, get smart, increase your customer base and help your existing customers. U-Verse with AT&T will be here soon.
