I've read through this forum and it appears you have a lot of disappointed users. I saw a few post in which a Cox rep. suggested that updates/patches are on the way. When? The "patches" that came through last week locked up the dvr for two days.
Not having slow-motion is killing me with football season is underway. When will this be repaired.
Also the remote is very squirrely, sometimes it works, sometimes it scrolls uncontrollably, sometimes it freezes with a menu blocking the screen.
When it works it great, when it doesn't it's very frustrating. I'm close to ripping out the whole package it there isn't a committment from Cox to getting these issues resolved in a timely manner.

I had the same issue with the patch a few days ago when I called checked on it with Cox it was an outage and not a real patch. A normal patch would have been done in the middle of the night and only taken 30-60 min.
With the remote you have two possible issues. One is the batteries are low. Even if they are not that old I would try replacing them with a set of good batteries. The cheap ones work fine but you get way more life out of name brand battery and that may help your issue.
The other possible issue could be that the box is thinking. I know I have had this happen to me. I think The box did not revive the button I pushed so I push it again. Then when they box catches up it will scroll several times because I did push the button several times. The box is just a computer and I know we have all clicked on something on our computer that did not respond right away this would be the same thing.

I've experienced the same nearly identical issues with the remote and the boxes.

I agree the whole house dvr/trio system is not ready for prime time so they say. No slow motion, it takes 15 button presses to turn CC on and off (that one was sopposed to be addressed "soon" in 2011 I believe-NOT). And lots of other issues.
I have given up on Cox customer service. The last three times I called, I was promised an escallation to Level 2 tech support but I never heard from them. One time they even assigned me a case number but I have not heard from them for that.
Can anyone say TIVO??

I agree. We also lost Picture in Picture with the "upgrade" to whole house DVR. Wish they had told us that we would lose the features.
