Whole Home DVR Error

Just had the Whole Home DVR installed today, we have 3 client boxes and two of them are flashing on the box "noCP" What does this mean and how do I fix it? Cox Tech support had no clue.

Hi Green,

I'm sorry that you're experiencing an issue so soon after the installation! I know how frustrating that must be, especially since our technical support rep wasn't able to resolve things. What steps did our technician walk you through?

The error you  mention usually indicates a communication issue between the receiver and the network. If you haven't already done so, I would suggest power cycling both client receivers using the following steps:

  1. Disconnect the power to each of the client receivers by either unplugging the power cord from the wall outlet or from the back of the receiver itself.
  2. Wait 20 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power to the client receivers by either plugging the power cord back into the wall outlet or into the back of the receiver.
  4. Wait  3-4 minutes for the client box to reset.

If this doesn't clear the error, we would then need to take a closer look at the diagnostics of each receiver. We have a tool that allows us to do that remotely, but we need account information to proceed. Since I don't want you to post personal information in this public forum, feel free to email my team at coxhelp@cox.com.

You can also call the 24/7 technical support number for your area and choose the menu option for Video Support. This helps to ensure that your call is received by a representative trained on the Whole Home DVR product. You can find your local tech support number by choosing your market from the drop-down box found HERE.
