what happens if I go over my bandwidth limit for the month?
can i upgrade to unlimited?

If you just go over one month, the worst that will happen is you will get a warning. Perhaps nothing will happen.
However, no, you can't upgrade to unlimited. The max is 2TB with Ultimate and Gigablast. See here for more info.
