Voice mail Notification Options

I set up the Voice Mail Notification Options under Phone Tools --> Settings to send me an email when someone leaves me a voicemail.  Up until a couple of days ago it was working perfectly but now I'm not getting notified.

I typed in the email address again then when that didn't work I inputted a different email address.  I turned the setting off and then on again and it still didn't work.

The caller is able to leave a voice mail and I can retrieve it fine, it's just the notification that isn't working.  I called tech support and they said they weren't able to troubleshoot it.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

One thing I would ask is does your phone have a voice mail indicator on it and is that working at this time?

Yes, I have a voice mail indicator on my phone and online.  People can leave voice mails and I can retrieve them without a problem.  The notification option, which was working perfectly, isn't working like it used to.

Last night, after my original post, I did receive a couple of notifications but they came in 8-10 hours after the voice mail.  It used to notifiy me within a matter of minutes. It looks like there might be some holdup on Cox's side.

Did you get that resolved?  I have the same problem (I haven't called Cox yet) but I was getting emails, and then about 2 months ago it stopped.  I've re-set my voice mail email address a couple of times, but no results.   People can leave a voice mail, and I can check it online, but no emails are coming through.

They lie and lie more but won't acknowledge that the emails they send you have a voice message waiting for you but they just want to lie more that they don't know how to fix it and ignore you until you stop complaining.  What is wrong with them, are they impressing us so we don't look for an honest, reputable service provider who don't lie and it really works?  I'm disappointed in them too.

So true, they don't know anything and will not fix the problem either immediately or not at all.

On October 24, 2012 I went to Phone Tools, clicked Settings, then Voice Mail, click Change under Voice Mail drop-down list, next Voice Mail Notifications Options, chose On, entered Email Address, entered the same Email Address in the next field, and put a check in the box under Text to receive email transcription because I'm deaf and 80% severe hard-of-hearing, then clicked Submit.  I waited 2 days and received an email message from Cox that I have an email message waiting for me but "they put it in Audio" which I never checked.  Ignorant people working at Cox who cannot understand English.  And I did it twice, so when I called Cox today, Christina wanted me to do it again.  How ignorant is that!

Very Disappointed!

I have had the same results, with forwarding Voice Mails to E-mails.  They can not get it to work with a Business type E-mail Like: XXXXXX@xxxxxx.omhcoxmail.com.  I got the E-mail to work if forwarded to a private E-Mail: XXX@aol.com.  It looks like they have a programming problem.   Now the Phone Tools Web-site will not let me in to the Voice Mail Settings options to even put in an E-Mail address.  I have had so many excuses that I do not believe this function ever worked.  Cox has too many support departs when you calll in on a problem you get transferred all over the company.  This function needs support from the Internet/Phone/E-Mail.  May they could talk to each other.
