Why do you not provide the equivalent channels in ENGLISH and for free as you do for the NON-ENGLISH speaking community? This is especially irritating for the Encore channel. If I want the ENGLISH Encore, I have to buy the movie pack. I would like to hear the response from COX why this is done, English Encore costs extra and Espana Encore is free.
Thanks

In my area, all Encore programming - including Encore Espanol - is part of the same Movie Pak.

Hey Janderson021,
We have packages that fits the needs of all of our Customers. Encore en Espanol is a package that a customer would have to subscribe to in order to view. The primary channel of Encore is included not all that fall under the Category. None of the services are free.

Domino - in my area, Omaha Ne., all cox cable customers were required to rent ($3.00) digital box in order to continue to view ANY cox cable shows. The excuse was 'better programming'.
Now, in the additional channels provided by the new box ENCESP is included (Encore Espana). However, ENGLISH Encore is not included. In order to view the ENGLISH version of Encore, I must purchase the Movie Pak. I think that is unfair to the ENGLISH speaking community. Why does the spanish speaking community get this for the required $3.00 a month fee EVERY cox customer must pay now?
That is my question to COX.
So far they have had only a weak non-answer (no surprise).
Thanks for the reply.

Hello - thanks for the reply, but that did not answer my original question.
Let me restate in order to make it easier to understand.

Why does the spanish speaking community in Omaha Ne get Encore for 'free' and the english speaking community in Omaha Ne have to pay for Encore?
Thanks

In some markets, Omaha included, Encore Espanol is listed (on Cox's TV lineup page) as part of the Essential tier. All other Encore channels are listed as optional. Janderson is correct. Shariel, check your own lineup listing for at least OK or NE.

If you are receiving the channel after hooking up the mini box, you should have been getting the channel before hooking it up. It's a channel included in the Essential Pack and it is not free. Subscribers still have to pay to tune to that channel.

Can you please explain this statement, Stephanie? I thought "included" means if you pay for the Essential level of service the channel is included in the price. Have we changed the definition to "included, but at an additional cost"? I'm confused, so what else is new
Here's a screenshot from the Omaha market channel lineup:

The original post was:
I read that as why is the Spanish version included in the Essentials tier but the English version isn't?

StepanieA I think the OP wants to know why the Spanish version of the UNIMHD & ENCESP are included/viewable in the basic channel package while the Engilish Encoore channels are in a separate channel tier?

ENCESP is not available because he now has a mini box. It was always a part of his packaging. I will allow the OP to follow up in case I am not understanding correctly but this post doesn't seem technical in nature and will be closed.

Stephanie - Again I will try to make my query easier to understand.
Prior to the requirement of renting the little digital box for $3.00 a month I did not have ENCESP, nor did I purchase the movie pak.
Now that I have the required little digital box at $3.00 a month, ENCESP is available and identified on the Essential channel listings, Reading the Cox description of channels in TV Essential (includes TV Starter), ENCESP is noted at channel 91.
I also chatted on-line with another Cox rep today, she confirmed what I am saying, ENCESP is part of TV Essential in Omaha Ne.
So it all comes back to my question, why do we get ENCESP as part of the required digital box/service, but not ENGLISH Encore?
Maybe the breakdown in communication here is you are unaware of the digital box/service we were required to rent/install a couple of months ago here in Omaha Ne. If we did not rent the digital box we would not be able to receive Cox programming under the guise of 'better programming'.
Thanks

You should have been getting the channel without the receiver. Since you are not going to be going back to a direct 2 set (D2S) connection, there's not much we can do to trouble shoot what caused it not to work before. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If there are no other technical issues to trouble shoot, I will be locking this thread.
