The picture on all my regular definition channels does not fit the screen.

Recently my regular definition channels have a picture which is too large for the screen. Part of the top and bottom are missing. The HD channels are fine. Any ideas?

Cox recently stretched the video on standard def channels to 16:9.  Since the video is already stretched, you may have a local setting also adjusting the video.

You can customize the aspect ratio settings on your Rovi DVR by pressing the Settings button on your remote control, and then pressing the A button. Scroll to highlight the Audio/Video menu and select the Video Aspect Ratio option. There are several options for Standard 4:3 as well as Widescreen 16:9. Choose an option and exit out of the Settings menu to view how the change affected your SD channels. You can try each setting to find the one that best works for you!
