TG2472 vs TG1682

Does anyone know if the TG1682 is better than the TG2472.

I currently have the TG2472 which is a 24 channel modem from Cox. It was the modem they handed out before they came out with Panoramic wifi. My question is would I notice any better range or anything with the TG1682 than the TG2472. I won't be using cox boosters, adapters, or anything with moca for the "panoramic features" that give you better range. Just the modem itself.

The TG2472 is a powerful modem / router just not sure if the TG1682 is better or not. From the spec sheets I've seen they're pretty much the same.

@TLG

The main difference is the TG1682 can be deployed in either a 16x or 24x downstream configuration. We're utilizing the 24x downstream configuration.

The TG2472 only does 16 channels right? Guess I'll be picking up the TG1682!

The TG2472 also utilizes 24 downstream channels.

So any reason to upgrade to TG1682 if I have the TG2472?

Doubtful, they are pretty much identical.

this evening (out of the blue) my internet dropped; when I called in the technician (Eddie) informed me that my gateway (operating in Bridge mode) was showing error in the system and it will require the TG2472 to be replaced by the TG1682 to align with cox system changes?

@BCB

Keep in mind these devices will not operate correctly when in bridged mode. If you're having connection issues I suggest resetting it to factory defaults and disconnecting any attached router.
