Speed increase

It appears that we have received the speed increase here in the San Diego market. It was scheduled for 10/21 so good job Cox! On the Preferred tier I'm now getting 65 Mbps down wired, 38 Mbps down wireless, and the usual +/- 20 Mbps up wired or wireless. I was getting 32 Mbps down wireless before, which is how I use my laptop so not a huge difference but hey, I'll take it. I did not get an email alert so anyone in SoCal should reset your modem to see if you're active.

Im not sure what the question is. Do you need help with anything or just reporting you got the upgrade? If the later, then yes, I agree it's great. I got my upgrade last week. :-)

Just alerting folks in San Diego to reset their modem to get the increase because no email from Cox. Now if only we can get some movement on the data cap.

Unplug it. Wait a minute or two. Plug it back in. Wait for all the front lights to come back on. Enjoy.

Thanks. That is what I did last night. Unplugged from the wall as well as removed the plugs from the modem. I 'think' it booted up quicker this morning.

Most modems should have been reset within 48 hours of the speed updates in a specific area, though there are always a few that miss the window and end up waiting another cycle my modem at home did that last month, so a hard reset from your end can force the changes to go through if they were not automatic. It probably wont speed up the modem's start up process though that is probably just a placebo effect ;-)
