Slow inconsistent internet speeds and the DS light on the Cisco modem is now orange?

I've been getting Slow inconsistent internet speeds and I noticed the DS  light on the Cisco modem is now orange?  This has been going on for days I've tried resetting everything many times but still the same problem.  I have had cox for over a year now and the internet has always been fast and all the light on the modem have been green. Does anyone know whats going on or how I can fix this?
