Slow download speeds solved

I upgraded from my old Motorola docsis 2.0 to SB6141 docsis 3.0 modem. After it was activated.my download speed remained the same at about 32mbps( I have preferred internet service). I used online chat to get help. The first tech reset my modem, but the speed didn't increase. The second tech changed my plan over to a docsis 3.0 plan. My speed increased to 38mbps. After the third tech chat, I connected my main computer directly to the modem and ran speed test. 65mbps download! My router was the bottleneck. I googled about slow routers and found my answer. The reset button on the router. I reset the router and hooked up everything back to normal. Now I get 46mbps(out of 50mbps advertised) download speed. I hope this helps someone in the future.
