silent channels

For about the past month, when I turn on my TV, I get sound on some channels and no sound on others. The channels most often affected are ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS. Sometimes I get sound if I turn it off and on several times but most of the time this doesn't work. Does anyone know what I should do?

1st guess is you have SAP turned on.  Are you using a minibox, digital STB / DVR or cable connected direct to TV?  If you need help checking SAP, please post type of box.

Hi Larry, what type of connector are you using from the TV to the box? Are you using an HDMI cable? I would recommend trying a different cable, maybe try a coaxial cable from the box to the TV to see if you experience the same issues. Does this happen on more than one TV?
