recording to vcr

So I was reading this thread: ChrisL Posted by ChrisL 2 Mar 2016 7:49 AM @mfjjwj What Tecknowhelp said is basically correct. The TV doesn't need to be on to record however the VCR is a legacy technology that is not compatible with digital signals. The mini-box addresses this limitation however all channel changes have to be done via the mini-box. -Chris Cox Support Forums Moderator Does this mean you can't tape to a VCR from an HD Contour box or regular cable box, only the mini's.
