Receiver Box - No Clock?

Hi all - I'm having the whole home DVR setup installed now. The tech told me that Cox is running low on equipment and one out of the two receiver boxes has no clock. I asked if I could simply swap it out later at my local Cox store but was told I'd probably have to pay for installation again. Should I take my chances with a swap out later or should I just refuse the box now for an incomplete installation?
