Preferred Internet at a speed less than 1 meg.
I just had my COX services moved to a new location right down the street from my old house. At my old location the speed was very good. Now it is not. No change in equipment. Duel band router etc. Any idea what happened?

Have you tried wired connection to router and wired connection to modem? If either of those are fast could be wireless congestion in your new area or interference. What kind of router do you have?

your outside wiring and connectivity has obviously changed. have Cox troubleshoot your lines and connections.

Another vote from here for having Cox come out and inspect your outside cables. Not sure where you live, but when we moved to AZ, the TV picture was all macro-blocky and froze often. Turned out the hot AZ sun did a number on the outside cables and the signal coming into the house was degraded. I hope it's that simple of a fix for ya!

Well looks like 2:1 against me. LOL. I thought a bypass would help isolate the issue. Just remember if the move was a self install, any technician out to the house may occur the failed self install fee, unless its a obvious Cox issue. FYI

Just make sure your signal levels are good and take a shot of them before Cox comes out. Check all your internal stuff for loose connections and that to make sure your inside stuff is good. Then you can make them reverse the charges when the tech lies on his report and says it was your problem (happens often it seems, dunno why the contract techs do that!!).

I believe the rep I spoke to was able to tell over the phone the signal reaching the cable modem was weak. Is that possible? Seven or eight years ago, so my memory could be doddery, haha. They came out and replaced the drop line, I think.
