I have 5 email addresses.
1 in particular will give me the line in the subject above. Clicking OK and saving the password does nothing. Eventually the password will take. It's not a big deal because it's a rarely used email address.
It is not the user name or password because I can take the credentials and log in to the cox.net webmail.
It's now happening to my main email address. Not a huge problem because the address is snyc'd w/my phone. AND I can hit OK, then f9 in Outlook and the S/R will work just fine. The next time the auto S/R hits it may, or may not, bring the prompt again and this time I might get the Enter U/P...
Keep in mind that I have 5 addresses in outlook and it almost always only happens w/1 email account. It's only happened with 2 different ones.
Any ideas why this is happening? I didn't mind until this started happening with my main email addy.
There is nothing unusual happening. I have not added/changed addys, internet is fine.

I would check your accounts in Outlook and see how many you have. If you have more then one, either disable or delete any accounts you don't need. Any you do need, make sure the username (not email) and password for incoming AND outgoing are correct. Also check your antivirus. Sometimes if they scan incoming mail, they can time out the process.
Other then that, I would try a different client like Thunderbird and see if the problem continues. It doesn't sound like a Cox problem, because as you said, it works fine in webmail.
