I have a dvr that was supplied 4 years ago. Between my daughter and wife. They are constantly recording shows. I hear that there is a whole room dvr recorder. I want to to be able to record more shows and change the channel when two recordings are taking place. Is there a such dvr box that does this. I recently read that the whole room dvr doesn't allow more than two recordings. Any suggestions?

Currently all DVR boxes offered are limited to two tuners. You could go with a whole home DVR setup that inclues two or more host boxes which would allow you to schedule recording across the multiple boxes as needed to keep tuners free for changing channels when watching live programming.

Cox will be offering the 6-tuner 2TB HDD DVR Cisco 98xx this year. As early as this quarter.

"Cox says it will launch a new IP video gateway – six tuners, 2TB of storage – from Cisco in the first quarter of this year..."
