New Cox Customer Install question

Hi, I'm a new cox internet only customer, I wanted to know what others experience with the initail install. I currently have my house wired inside for coax in all rooms. I expect the installer to put a cable box on the side of the house and hope they plan to run cable to room where computer is through the attic. I looked at my neighbors house and they have cox cable but the install is not what I would consider professional. I'm paying for "Professional" install and I've done cat 5 cable installs for years and professional is hidden out of sight and in the wall. The neighbor has the main cable feeding the house sticking out of the ground about 5 feet from the hook up. The cable they have to feed the TV is run up into the sofit and another cable leading to the computer room is laying above ground and goes through the wall on the front porch and looks like an idiot did it, not professional at all! Will you share your install experience here and tell me what to expect. I'm not going to let anyone tack cable across the front of my house then just drill hole in wall of computer room. I'll do it myself if that's their idea of professional. Thanks in advance.

If the technician can get reasonable access to the other end of the cable feeding the outlet you want connected they'll generally work with you to take that approach providing the cabling is suitable.  If a new outlet needs to be run wall fishing is not included so the typical approach would be to drill through the wall/ceiling/floor and feeding a new cable as appropriate.  Definitely work with your technician and he/she will do their best to address your installation concerns.

Just so you know our technicians aren't supposed to be taking tips.  I've found myself that if I wall fished stuff on my own and worked with the technician to make things as easy as possible that the technician will usually work with me so long as I'm not tying up too much of his/her day on something that isn't supported.  Definitely let us know if any complications come up.
